I was telling my brother about how boring swimming in the pool can be.  It’s repetitive and I feel like I am doing the same thing over and over again.  Yesterday, I received a package in the mail from my brother and when I opened it up it was a Waterproof MP3 Player by AquaCube.

I can’t wait to try this Waterproof MP3 Player out in the pool to help make my swim less tedious.  If you can’t tell, I’m pretty excited . . . I hope I don’t electricute myself.

  1. these can be pretty cool. My wife got one a few years back and it seemed to work quite well, although I think the ear pieces kept falling out. and yes, the back and forth of the pool can seem extremely boring. Are you using any defined workouts, or just swimming straight for x meters?

    Here is my workout for today, and a rather typical one for the weekend.

    WU: 300 Swim
    MS: 4x (50 Swim, 50 Kick, 50 Drill)
    300 Steady
    2×250 Pull – build by 50’s
    6×50’s – Kick HARD – do what you can!
    CD: 200 Choice
    Total = 2200yds

    • Mitch,

      I have been just swimming straight for x meters, and thanks sharing your swimming workout. I really don’t have any idea what I am doing in the pool, but I figure that just straight swimming wasn’t a bad idea. I’m going to send you an email with a couple of follow-up questions.

      Thanks,
      Zeb Welborn

  2. I just saw this article on BoingBoing about underwater MP3 players, http://www.boingboing.net/2011/03/01/bone-conducting-unde.html
    The article is useful, but i think the comments might give better recommendations.
